Showcasing some of the most talented press photographers in the world, the annual World Press Photo exhibition hit The Powerhouse in Brisbane last Saturday. Running until Sunday 26th June, I highly recommend making a trip down to New Farm to check it out, make sure to head downstairs, where you’ll find the more provocative images.

Dutch sneaker store Acht (eight to us English speakers) is set to launch their first collaboration; a handsome Saucony Shadow 6000. Those who know me well enough will be aware that I’m a sucker for black/white/red combinations and these Sauc’s pull the scheme off well. A nice mix of materials come together to create a really nice looking shoe, I love the dark tea coloured gum sole and the denim around the toe creates a more durable shoe.
You can read an interview with Acht’s owner Philip in regards to the story behind the shoe on Lacebag (English translation). Always nice to see the smaller retailers get a chance.

Moving blogs…
For now, I’m moving all my blogging to Project 4000, something myself and my buddy Taz have been planning on doing for a little while. So for now, just shoot over there to see whatever I’m blabbing about.
Small world… smaller car…

One insanely detailed 1/8 Ferrari F40 model. Check out the story/gallery on Jalopnik.
If you think that’s impressive however, check out the infamous tiny Ferrari 312. If you haven’t already seen it, you’re in for a treat.
To the moon you say?

40 years today… The Big Picture once again, has compiled some great images to commemorate the occasion. See them here.

“FUCKIN’ BEAUTY!” Webber Wins in Germany

So I’m sure it will be all over the Australian news today, but Mark Webber finally broke through and won his first ever Grand Prix. He’s the first Aussie to do so in 27 years, since Alan Jones. When he crossed the line Webber did us proud by exclaiming ‘Fuckin’ beauty!’ in an expression of raw emotion.
It has taken nearly 8 years for this first win and it wasn’t easy. Mark had to overcome a drive-through for an incident with Rubens Barrichello before the first corner (and also was clipped by Lewis Hamilton which resulted in the McLaren’s tyre deflating). But still, with the extra 25 or so seconds that come from a penalty, Mark was able to hammer down and STILL win convincingly. Now the monkey is off his back, hopefully he can get to beating his team mate and go for that Brawn of Jenson Button!
Webber takes pole in Germany!

Last night Mark Webber came out on top of a tumultuous qualifying session at Nurburgring. Here’s the post-race weight provided by F1Technical:

Most importantly this is the first time (as far as I remember) that Red Bull have out-qualified Brawn with notably more fuel on board. One thinks that this may yet be Mark’s best chance at a maiden victory. Fingers crossed! (something you get sick of doing being a Webber supporter)
VERY well done by Adrian Suthil, who out-quali’d both Ferraris with more fuel! I hope the young lad has a good race.
Hopefully my next blog will be about Webber’s first win!
